Executive Attorney


Kyle Todd graduated from the University of Colorado, Denver in 2009, and earned his law degree from UCLA in 2012. He was admitted to practice in California that year, and since then has dedicated his legal career to advancing workers’ rights, whistleblowers’ rights, and the rights of victims of police misconduct.

At UCLA School of Law, Kyle received specializations in both Public Interest Law and Policy and Critical Race Studies. While studying at UCLA, he worked for a labor union, an immigrants’ rights organization, and various workers’ rights law firms. Shortly after graduating from UCLA, Kyle struck out on his own, forming the Law Offices of Kyle Todd (“LOKT”), located in downtown Los Angeles, California.

Areas of Expertise


As the lead attorney at LOKT, Kyle fights for the rights of individuals facing harassment and discrimination based on their age, disability, race, sex, gender, sexual orientation, pregnancy and other grounds protected under the Fair Employment and Housing Act.

Kyle additionally represents individuals, classes, and representative groups facing violations of their right to lawful wages, overtime pay, proper breaks, and other rights protected by the Labor Code. He also works to defeat employers’ sham attempts at misclassifying their employees as “independent contractors” or otherwise exempt from protection under the Labor Code.

Whistleblower Protection

Another aspect of Kyle’s practice is fighting for individuals who show the courage to blow the whistle on their employer’s illegal, unsafe, and unfair activities. This includes workers who are retaliated against after opposing workplace harassment and/or discrimination, as well as those who face retaliation when they seek to make their workplace safer for themselves, their co-workers and the general public. Kyle additionally represents workers seeking to privately blow the whistle on their employers when they fraudulently using public funds.

Civil Rights

Finally, Kyle fights for individuals whose civil rights have been violated outside the workplace, including by the police and other state actors. To this end, Kyle represents individuals in excessive force cases against abusive officers and the departments who protect them, and fights to protect individuals and groups’ first and fourth amendment rights when they have come under attack by the state.
