Samantha Johnson was born and raised in Burbank, California. Ms. Johnson then attended and graduated from California State University Northridge in 2015, having majored in Film Writing and minored in Psychology.
Two years later, Ms. Johnson attended Southwestern Law School. There, she enrolled in SCALE, a two-year accelerated J.D. program. During her time in law school, Ms. Johnson competed in Moot Court. Specifically, she competed in the William B. Spong Tournament at the William & Mary Law School in Williamsburg, Virginia, where she received a perfect score in her final oral argument round and her brief scored in the top 15% of all submitted briefs.
Ms. Johnson also excelled scholastically, receiving multiple Cali and Witkin Awards for classes including Torts, Legal Writing, Copyright, Civil Procedure, Jurisdiction, and Constitutional Law. In May of 2019, she graduated magna cum laude and in the top 10% of her class. Ms. Johnson sat for and successfully passed the California Bar in July 2019.
Originally seeking a position as an entertainment lawyer, Ms. Johnson changed her trajectory when she met attorney Kyle Todd in November 2019. After learning about the type of work to which Mr. Todd has committed himself, Ms. Johnson knew she wanted to make the switch to practicing employment law. At Kyle Todd, P.C., Ms. Johnson focuses on litigating violations of the Fair Employment and Housing Act, including harassment, discrimination, and retaliation; as well as wage and hour Class Actions.
